Apache beads | Anemopsis californicum

    Description

Apache beads (Anemopsis californicum) is an attractive marginal pond plant, ideal for adding interest around the water’s edge. This medium-growing perennial produces beautiful white, scented flowers from June to August, held above broad, dark green leaves for a striking contrast.

Thriving in full sun to part shade, Apache beads suits a wide range of UK pond and water garden settings. The flowers and foliage can be dried for potpourri, bringing their fragrance indoors as well as brightening the pondside in summer.

As a marginal plant, Anemopsis californicum helps soften hard pond edges and contributes to a more natural look. Marginal plants also offer valuable cover and structure around the pond margin, helping to create a more wildlife-friendly habitat. Apache beads is a distinctive choice for gardeners wanting a scented, white-flowering marginal that stands out from more common pond plants.

      Care Instructions

Apache Beads (Anemopsis californicum) are low-maintenance marginals that thrive in full sun to part shade, making them ideal for a variety of garden settings. To keep your plant looking tidy and healthy, trim the stems just above the water surface after the foliage has naturally died back in autumn. This simple step helps prepare the plant for the next growing season. With a medium growth rate, Apache Beads provide elegant white flowers and lush green leaves without demanding extra care. They are perfect for gardeners who want a fragrant, resilient addition to borders or mixed plantings with minimal upkeep.

      Ordering, Shipping, Tracking and Returns
      Ordering & delivery

Some products are ready for immediate dispatch, while others are sold for a later delivery period so that they can reach you in good condition and at the right point in the growing season.

The expected delivery period for the product or variant you choose will be shown below the Add to basket button and again in the basket and checkout.

30 litre plants and some larger items are sent by specialist pallet delivery rather than standard parcel.

If your order contains products with different delivery timings, it may be split into more than one shipment. Plants or products that are ready for immediate dispatch will normally be sent first, while later-season plants will be sent when they are ready. This helps us send live plants at the appropriate point in the season and in suitable condition to travel.

For full details, please see our Shipping Policy.

      Returns & problems on arrival

Because we sell live aquatic plants and molluscs, some parts of our policy work differently from standard retail.

Live plants and molluscs are perishable and are not suitable for routine returns once they have been prepared for dispatch.

If there is a genuine issue on arrival, please contact us within 24 hours using the form on our Contact page, with your order number, photographs, and a short explanation.

We will always review genuine issues carefully and fairly. Depending on the circumstances, the appropriate remedy may include a replacement, refund, or partial refund where appropriate.
