Aquatic Plant Fertiliser Tablets (25 Pack)

    Description

Healthy pond plants do more than look beautiful — they help create balance. These slow-release Osmocote aquatic fertiliser tablets are designed specifically for feeding pond plants grown in baskets and containers. Inserted directly into the soil, they deliver steady nutrition at the roots without clouding the water.

    The balanced formulation supports:
     • Strong leafy growth
     • Reliable flowering
     • Improved root development
     • Vigorous establishment in spring

Because nutrients are released gradually beneath the soil surface, they remain available at the root zone rather than dispersing into the pond water — supporting growth without upsetting water balance.

A single application in spring will feed most aquatic plants for the entire growing season.

      Growing Instructions
      • Apply in spring as plants begin active growth
      • Push tablets approximately 2 cm beneath the soil surface in the planting basket.
      • Position near the root zone but not directly against the crown of the plant.
      • Gently firm the soil back over the tablet.
      • Water lilies and heavy feeders may require the higher dosage rate.

Do not scatter tablets into open water.

      Care Instructions
      • Apply once in spring at the start of the growing season. A single application provides steady nutrition for several months.
      • Insert tablets approximately 2 cm beneath the soil surface, close to the root zone but not directly against the plant crown
      • Do not place tablets into open water, and do not exceed the recommended dosage
      • In smaller ponds or container ponds, measure carefully to avoid over-feeding.
      • If plants are divided or repotted during the growing season, fresh tablets may be inserted into the new compost
      • Reseal the pack after use and store in a cool, dry, ventilated space
      • Wash hands after handling.

When used correctly, these tablets support strong plant growth while maintaining water balance and protecting fish and wildlife.

      Growers Tips
      • Aquatic compost is deliberately low in nutrients to protect water quality — fertiliser is essential for sustained, season-long growth
      • Feed in spring as plants begin active growth
      • This gives roots immediate access to nutrients when they need them most
      • Always insert tablets beneath the soil surface rather than placing them in open water
      • Nutrients should be delivered directly to the root zone
      • Water lilies and other heavy feeders benefit most from consistent root feeding and may require the higher recommended dosage
      • Pale leaves, reduced flowering or weak growth can indicate nutrient deficiency — particularly in established baskets that have not been refreshed for a year or more
      • When dividing or repotting plants, insert fresh tablets into the new compost to support strong re-establishment
      • In smaller ponds or container ponds, measure carefully and avoid over-feeding — balanced nutrition supports the pond ecosystem, excess nutrients do not.
      Wildlife Tips
      • Strong plants support pond life
      • Healthy foliage provides better shelter for amphibians and invertebrates, while flowering plants support visiting pollinators
      • Because these tablets are inserted beneath the soil surface and release nutrients slowly, they are safe for fish and wildlife when used correctly
      • Avoid over-application, particularly in wildlife ponds with limited planting volume
      Ordering, Shipping, Tracking and Returns
      Ordering & delivery

Some products are ready for immediate dispatch, while others are sold for a later delivery period so that they can reach you in good condition and at the right point in the growing season.

The expected delivery period for the product or variant you choose will be shown below the Add to basket button and again in the basket and checkout.

30 litre plants and some larger items are sent by specialist pallet delivery rather than standard parcel.

If your order contains products with different delivery timings, it may be split into more than one shipment. Plants or products that are ready for immediate dispatch will normally be sent first, while later-season plants will be sent when they are ready. This helps us send live plants at the appropriate point in the season and in suitable condition to travel.

For full details, please see our Shipping Policy.

      Returns & problems on arrival

Because we sell live aquatic plants and molluscs, some parts of our policy work differently from standard retail.

Live plants and molluscs are perishable and are not suitable for routine returns once they have been prepared for dispatch.

If there is a genuine issue on arrival, please contact us within 24 hours using the form on our Contact page, with your order number, photographs, and a short explanation.

We will always review genuine issues carefully and fairly. Depending on the circumstances, the appropriate remedy may include a replacement, refund, or partial refund where appropriate.

Please do not send anything back unless we have agreed this with you in writing first.
