Floating Aquatic Plant Basket – Square (25 cm & 35 cm)

    Description

Floating aquatic plant baskets allow marginal plants to be positioned directly on the pond surface, making them ideal for ponds without shelves, container ponds, and wildlife ponds.

The basket supports the plant while allowing unrestricted contact between the plant pot and surrounding pond water. This ensures roots continue to receive oxygen and nutrients naturally, without disturbing established planting or requiring specialist repotting.

Floating baskets provide a practical solution where conventional baskets cannot be placed, particularly in deeper ponds or ponds with steep sides. They also allow flexible positioning, so planting arrangements can be adjusted easily as your pond develops.

Multiple baskets can be grouped together to create floating planting areas or natural floating islands, improving visual balance while supporting pond wildlife.

    Choosing the right size

Select the size that matches your plant pot:

    25 cm basket
Best suited to marginal plants supplied in 1 litre pots

    Choose this size when:

    • planting compact or low-growing marginal plants
    • using container ponds or smaller ponds
    • creating lightweight floating planting areas

    35 cm basket
Best suited to marginal plants supplied in 3 litre pots

    Choose this size when:

    • planting medium marginal plants
    • greater stability is required
    • creating more prominent floating planting areas
    • planting in larger or more exposed ponds

Avoid very tall or top-heavy plants in floating baskets, as stability depends on balanced weight distribution.

    Why use floating aquatic baskets?

Floating baskets allow planting where fixed basket placement is not possible.

    They are especially useful when:

    • ponds lack planting shelves
    • shelves are too deep or unsuitable
    • container ponds require marginal planting
    • flexible or movable planting is preferred

They also allow plants to be repositioned easily for maintenance, seasonal adjustment, or design changes

      Ordering & delivery

Some products are ready for immediate dispatch, while others are sold for a later delivery period so that they can reach you in good condition and at the right point in the growing season.

The expected delivery period for the product or variant you choose will be shown below the Add to basket button and again in the basket and checkout.

30 litre plants and some larger items are sent by specialist pallet delivery rather than standard parcel.

If your order contains products with different delivery timings, it may be split into more than one shipment. Plants or products that are ready for immediate dispatch will normally be sent first, while later-season plants will be sent when they are ready. This helps us send live plants at the appropriate point in the season and in suitable condition to travel.

For full details, please see our Shipping Policy.

      Returns & problems on arrival

Because we sell live aquatic plants and molluscs, some parts of our policy work differently from standard retail.

Live plants and molluscs are perishable and are not suitable for routine returns once they have been prepared for dispatch.

If there is a genuine issue on arrival, please contact us within 24 hours using the form on our Contact page, with your order number, photographs, and a short explanation.

We will always review genuine issues carefully and fairly. Depending on the circumstances, the appropriate remedy may include a replacement, refund, or partial refund where appropriate.

Please do not send anything back unless we have agreed this with you in writing first.

For full details, please see our Refunds & Returns Policy.
