Golden club | Orontium aquaticum

    Description

Golden club (Orontium aquaticum) is an eye-catching marginal pond plant, ideal for adding something a little different to the water’s edge. This unusual plant produces striking yellow flower spikes on clean white stems, creating a bold contrast that really stands out in the pond.

Flowering in May and June, Golden club brings early-season colour before its leaves grow large, so the blooms remain clearly visible. With a naturally slow growth rate, it is a good choice for smaller ponds or for gardeners who prefer a more controlled, architectural look.

Best grown in full sun, this marginal plant is suitable for planting in shallow water around the pond margins. Like other marginal pond plants, Orontium aquaticum helps to soften hard pond edges and offers valuable cover and habitat for aquatic wildlife, contributing to a more natural, wildlife-friendly pond environment.

      Care Instructions

Sunlight: Golden Club thrives best in full sun conditions, ensuring vibrant growth and bright yellow flower spikes.

Planting: Keep your Golden Club in its pot to protect its delicate roots; removing the pot can damage roots and harm the plant's health.

Maintenance: After the foliage dies back in autumn, remove the dead leaves from the water to maintain a clean and healthy environment for your plant.

Growth Rate: This is a slow-growing marginal plant, perfect for adding a steady, natural accent to your garden or pond edges.

      Ordering, Shipping, Tracking and Returns
      Ordering & delivery

Some products are ready for immediate dispatch, while others are sold for a later delivery period so that they can reach you in good condition and at the right point in the growing season.

The expected delivery period for the product or variant you choose will be shown below the Add to basket button and again in the basket and checkout.

30 litre plants and some larger items are sent by specialist pallet delivery rather than standard parcel.

If your order contains products with different delivery timings, it may be split into more than one shipment. Plants or products that are ready for immediate dispatch will normally be sent first, while later-season plants will be sent when they are ready. This helps us send live plants at the appropriate point in the season and in suitable condition to travel.

For full details, please see our Shipping Policy.

      Returns & problems on arrival

Because we sell live aquatic plants and molluscs, some parts of our policy work differently from standard retail.

Live plants and molluscs are perishable and are not suitable for routine returns once they have been prepared for dispatch.

If there is a genuine issue on arrival, please contact us within 24 hours using the form on our Contact page, with your order number, photographs, and a short explanation.

We will always review genuine issues carefully and fairly. Depending on the circumstances, the appropriate remedy may include a replacement, refund, or partial refund where appropriate.
