Society garlic | Tulbaghia violacea

    Description

Society garlic (Tulbaghia violacea) is an attractive marginal pond plant valued for its fragrant, pale purple-pink flowers and elegant form. Held in large terminal umbels, the blooms appear freely from July to October, adding long-lasting colour and gentle scent to the pond edge or a sunny waterside border.

This slow-growing marginal is best in full sun, where its upright foliage and airy flower heads create a soft, architectural effect. Society garlic is ideal for adding late-season interest around wildlife ponds and water features, helping to break up hard edges and provide extra structure at the water’s margin.

As a marginal pond plant, Tulbaghia violacea contributes to a more natural-looking pond, offering cover and gentle height variation around the water’s edge. Its extended flowering period makes it a useful choice for gardeners seeking reliable summer-to-autumn colour in a compact, refined plant.

      Ordering, Shipping, Tracking and Returns
      Ordering & delivery

Some products are ready for immediate dispatch, while others are sold for a later delivery period so that they can reach you in good condition and at the right point in the growing season.

The expected delivery period for the product or variant you choose will be shown below the Add to basket button and again in the basket and checkout.

30 litre plants and some larger items are sent by specialist pallet delivery rather than standard parcel.

If your order contains products with different delivery timings, it may be split into more than one shipment. Plants or products that are ready for immediate dispatch will normally be sent first, while later-season plants will be sent when they are ready. This helps us send live plants at the appropriate point in the season and in suitable condition to travel.

For full details, please see our Shipping Policy.
