Variegated slender sweet flag | Acorus gramineus variegatus

    Description

Variegated slender sweet flag (Acorus gramineus ‘Variegatus’) is an attractive marginal pond plant with elegant, grass-like foliage. Its green and white variegated leaves bring light and texture to the water’s edge, making it ideal for softening pond margins and creating a natural look.

This slow-growing marginal plant thrives in full sun to part shade, offering reliable structure from June to September and beyond. Although primarily grown for its striking foliage rather than flowers, its upright, arching leaves provide subtle movement and interest around wildlife ponds, formal water features, and container ponds.

As a marginal plant, Acorus gramineus ‘Variegatus’ helps create valuable cover at the pond edge, offering shelter for aquatic wildlife and contributing to a more balanced pond environment. Its compact, tidy habit makes it a good choice for smaller ponds or for adding contrast among broader-leaved marginals.

      Care Instructions

Nymphaea Xiafei thrives best in full sun, requiring at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily to promote healthy growth and vibrant blooms.

Plant your lily gently in still or slow-moving water, keeping it away from splashing fountains or strong currents. Slowly lower the plant into the water so that its leaves can reach the surface within a few days.

During the growing season, regularly remove any dead leaves and faded flowers to maintain plant health and encourage continuous blooming.

This small, slow-growing water lily adds a beautiful splash of red to your pond or water garden with minimal maintenance.

      Ordering, Shipping, Tracking and Returns
      Ordering & delivery

Some products are ready for immediate dispatch, while others are sold for a later delivery period so that they can reach you in good condition and at the right point in the growing season.

The expected delivery period for the product or variant you choose will be shown below the Add to basket button and again in the basket and checkout.

30 litre plants and some larger items are sent by specialist pallet delivery rather than standard parcel.

If your order contains products with different delivery timings, it may be split into more than one shipment. Plants or products that are ready for immediate dispatch will normally be sent first, while later-season plants will be sent when they are ready. This helps us send live plants at the appropriate point in the season and in suitable condition to travel.

For full details, please see our Shipping Policy.

      Returns & problems on arrival

Because we sell live aquatic plants and molluscs, some parts of our policy work differently from standard retail.

Live plants and molluscs are perishable and are not suitable for routine returns once they have been prepared for dispatch.

If there is a genuine issue on arrival, please contact us within 24 hours using the form on our Contact page, with your order number, photographs, and a short explanation.

We will always review genuine issues carefully and fairly. Depending on the circumstances, the appropriate remedy may include a replacement, refund, or partial refund where appropriate.
