Water Fringe | Nymphoides peltata

    Description

Water fringe (Nymphoides peltata) is a charming deep water pond plant, ideal for adding colour and movement to the water’s surface. This aquatic perennial produces a profusion of small, bright yellow flowers from June to September, carried on plantlets that float attractively across the pond.

Suited to full sun to part shade, Water fringe forms a natural-looking spread of foliage that helps soften hard pond edges and break up open water. Its medium to fast growth makes it a good choice for quickly establishing surface cover in wildlife-friendly ponds, where floating leaves can offer shelter for aquatic life and help reduce light penetration.

Nymphoides peltata is best planted in the deeper areas of the pond, where its floating rosettes can create a pretty, informal effect. A lovely option for adding long-lasting summer colour to garden ponds and water features.

      Care Instructions

Water Fringe (Nymphoides peltata) Care Instructions:

Water Fringe thrives in full sun to part shade, making it versatile for various pond locations. This deep-water aquatic plant has a medium to fast growth rate, spreading noticeably within one year depending on conditions. It performs best in ponds with sufficient depth but can become vigorous in very shallow, marshy areas.

No regular maintenance is required to keep Water Fringe healthy. However, if growth becomes excessive, simply trim back the plant to prevent overcrowding and maintain an attractive appearance. Regular trimming also helps promote better air circulation and overall plant vigor.

Planting Water Fringe adds bright yellow flowers and lush greenery to your water garden with minimal effort, perfect for enhancing pond landscapes easily.

      Ordering, Shipping, Tracking and Returns
      Ordering & delivery

Some products are ready for immediate dispatch, while others are sold for a later delivery period so that they can reach you in good condition and at the right point in the growing season.

The expected delivery period for the product or variant you choose will be shown below the Add to basket button and again in the basket and checkout.

30 litre plants and some larger items are sent by specialist pallet delivery rather than standard parcel.

If your order contains products with different delivery timings, it may be split into more than one shipment. Plants or products that are ready for immediate dispatch will normally be sent first, while later-season plants will be sent when they are ready. This helps us send live plants at the appropriate point in the season and in suitable condition to travel.
