Medium water lilies provide generous leaf coverage and strong floral display, often forming the visual centrepiece of a balanced pond. In favourable conditions, most varieties in this group will spread between approximately 90 and 120cm, offering meaningful surface coverage without the scale of the largest growers.

They are generally happiest when planted with around 45–90cm of water above the soil surface (measured from soil level to water surface), allowing sufficient depth for healthy growth while maintaining good flowering performance.
